On our list of Current Income Sources, there is the option to choose your income source type as Alimony/Child Support. You should claim this income source if you are receiving regular payments from an ex-partner to help support you or your child/children.
Here are the documents that you can submit to prove this income type:
- Bank Statement
- Letter of Support
- Court Legal Documents
Bank Statement
A bank statement should ideally show the following:
- Your full legal name, as stated on the Application
- A date within the last 30 days
- A clearly visible deposit that matches the amount you stated in your Application
- NOT a screenshot from your banking app (these often do not have your name visible)
If you are able, providing your 2-3 most recent bank statements in one PDF file, is the best way for us to see that you receive recurring payments
Letter of Support
A Letter of support should ideally show the following:
- Your full legal name, as stated on the Application
- A date within the last 30 days
- A clearly stated support amount and how often you receive it from this person
- The supporter's contact details and name
- Must be written by the person paying you child support/alimony
Court/ Legal Agreements Documents
A Letter of support should ideally show the following:
- Your full legal name, as stated on the Application
- A date within the last 30 days
- A clearly stated support amount and how often you receive it from this person
- The supporter's name
Please be aware that a current document (dated in the last 30 days) is important because Naborly wants to help you show your prospective landlord that you are currently able to pay rent for the property that you are applying to. Since peoples lives change often, we cannot verify that you are currently receiving income from this source with documentation that is outside of this 30 day range.
